The ban on pruning elm trees has been lifted. A ban from April 1^st, 2025, to August 31^st, 2025, was in effect in accordance with provincial regulations.

The City confirms that Prince Albert’s drinking water remains safe and continues to meet all provincial regulatory standards. The earthy or musty taste and odour residents have noticed are associated with levels of naturally occurring organic compounds in the North Saskatchewan River and do not pose a health risk.

The City of Prince Albert advises residents that annual hydraulic flushing of the water distribution system will begin in Zone 1 during the week of August 31, 2026.

Since the weekend of August 16, the City has received reports from residents of a slight earthy or musty odour when running cold water from their taps. The City’s Water Treatment Plant has collected water samples for further testing. Based on the results to date, the City can confirm that the water remains safe to drink.

The City of Prince Albert Public Works Department would like to advise residents of upcoming roadway rehabilitation work on 15th Avenue East between 22nd and 28th Street. The project includes asphalt milling, paving, and select concrete repairs. Please refer to the attached map for project limits.

Elm trees in Kinsmen Park will be treated with a protective fungicide on Tuesday, July 21, as part of the City of Prince Albert’s efforts to safeguard its American elm population from Dutch Elm Disease (DED).

The City of Prince Albert is providing residents with an update on the water discolouration reported in some areas of the City.

Over the last several days, the City has been experiencing issues relating to the discoloration of the water supply. As a matter of information, the City would like to assure residents that this is considered normal and that the supply of City water remains safe for consumption.

The City of Prince Albert is reminding utility customers that beginning June 1, 2026, mailed paper copies of water utility bills will cost $2 per bill. Residents can avoid the fee by switching to free email billing before the deadline.

The City of Prince Albert has released its 2025 Drinking Water Quality and Compliance Report, providing residents with a summary of the City's water quality performance and compliance with regulatory sampling requirements from January 1 to December 31, 2025.
