Taking a few moments to review the information provided will help ensure your request is completed correctly and avoid delays or follow-up. Please make sure all the items below are checked:

To ensure your billboard submission is approved, please follow these requirements:

File Requirements

  • File size: 900 px by 450 px
  • File format: PNG only (this is the only format accepted by the billboard scheduling software)
  • File name format: Date-of-event_Name-of-event. Example: 11May2024_CommunityCleanup.png

Design Requirements

  • Submit a high-quality visual (preferably professionally designed).
  • Use a simple, easy-to-read design that can be understood by people driving by.
  • Do not use:
    • Script or Calligraphy fonts
    • Diagonal text
    • Serif fonts

Billboard Content

Your visual should include only:

  • Event title
  • Event dates
  • Event times
  • Event location

Do not include (all this information on your paevents.ca event):

  • Website links
  • Facebook links
  • Phone numbers
  • Admission information

 

Sponsor Logos

  • Sponsor logos may be included but must be small and should not overpower the event information.

PAEVENTS.ca Logo Requirement

For event submissions:

  • The PAEVENTS.ca logo must be clearly displayed and take up 20% of the design.
  • It must be larger than any sponsor logos.
  • It should not be cut off, reduced to a small size, or placed only in a corner.
  • The PAEVENTS.ca website is where residents will find full event details.

Event Calendar Approval

Before submitting this request:

  • Your event must already be submitted and approved on the events calendar: www.paevents.ca.
  • Billboard requests will only be considered for events that have been approved for the events calendar.

Advertising Guidelines

  • Billboard visuals will run two weeks before the event.
  • Advertising space is subject to availability and the number of submissions received.
  • Advertisements for for-profit organizations are not accepted.
  • The City of Prince Albert reserves the right to edit, deny, or remove submissions.

The City of Prince Albert owns and operates the billboard located at 2nd Avenue and 15th Street.

The billboard is primarily used to advertise:

  • City News and
  • Community Events. 

This is primarily a community based billboard intended to leave a lasting positive impression of Prince Albert both inside and outside the city through the promotion of prominent events and news in Prince Albert. Intended results include:

  • Increase exposure of Prince Albert’s main events to residents and tourists travelling through Prince Albert
  • Build community pride through the promotion of good news from Prince Albert including awards, accomplishments and achievements, especially those relating to the priorities identified in the City’s Community Services Master Plan and Municipal Cultural Action Plan.
  • Inform residents about notable City services and emergency announcements as required.

Note: Events that occur more than a 50km outside of Prince Albert will not be considered.

The City of Prince Albert reserves the right to edit submissions for clarity and to approve, deny, or remove content at any time at its sole discretion. Placement and frequency of promotions are not guaranteed and will depend on the number of submissions received and available space.

Event promotion on the digital billboard is provided at no charge.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • All events must first be submitted to and approved for the www.paevents.ca calendar
  • Approval on the calendar does not guarantee promotion on the digital billboard
  • Events must align with community standards and contribute positively to Prince Albert

Content Standards:
To qualify for promotion, event submissions must:

  • Not include demeaning or derogatory portrayals of individuals or groups
  • Not contain content that is contrary to public order or good taste
  • Be suitable for a broad public audience

Subject to the Direction of the Director of Corporate Services, events may be removed that are deemed to be objectionable.

Positive news stories may be shared on the digital billboard at no cost.

The City welcomes submissions highlighting good news from Prince Albert, including awards, accomplishments, and achievements—particularly those that align with the City’s Community Services Master Plan and Municipal Cultural Action Plan.

To be considered, Positive News Stories must:

  • Feature a Prince Albert resident, or
  • Represent a Prince Albert organization, or
  • Highlight an achievement that directly benefits or reflects the Prince Albert community

Additional Requirements:

  • Submissions must be verifiable and will require supporting documentation and a reference contact
  • Achievements should be connected to a recognized organization, event, or initiative
  • Submissions should demonstrate meaningful impact, excellence, or community contribution

By submitting content, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and truthful. The City reserves the right to verify, edit, or decline any submission that does not meet the above criteria or cannot be confirmed.

  1. Events that occur more than a 50km outside of Prince Albert will not be considered
  2. Advertising for-profit organizations is not permitted on the billboard.
  3. Third-party program registrations will not be accepted.
  4. Third-party programming will not be advertised.

  2. Annual Festivals and Events supported through the City of Prince Albert’s In-Kind program.
  3. Other notable events that have broad community appeal AND submitted and approved on www.paevents.ca.
    • Events should fall into one of the following categories:
      • Community Events that involves members of the community coming together for a shared purpose of improving the local environment.
      • Sports Events: Regional, Provincial or National Sport Tournaments hosted in Prince Albert. Raider, Minto, Bears and Titans Home Games
      • Entertainment Events offering performances and shows for audiences to enjoy.
  4. Notable accomplishments from Prince Albert organizations, businesses and residents;
  5. Initiatives related to Community Safety and Well-being

  • Notable Services.
  • New and interesting arts and recreation classes.
  • Promotions that appeal to a wide audience.
  • Abrupt services changes that require attention. 
  • Major projects that require communication to a large audience. 
  • EA Rawlinson Centre Events.
  • Good news including awards, accomplishments, major announcements and achievements.
  • Recognition of National and Provincial holidays (i.e. New Years Day, Remembrance Day) and cultural and spiritual celebrations in Prince Albert.

In order to be considered for the billboard, promotion requests should be made a minimum of 4 weeks before the event starts and must include full details including date, time, location and any associated logos, images or graphics. This will provide time for discussion about the ad and revisions if required. Ad requests that can be submitted earlier, with complete details, are appreciated. 

Billboard promotions are reviewed in accordance with this criteria. Posting an event or announcement does not imply endorsement by the City of Prince Albert. The City reserves the right to revise the billboard criteria at any time. The City of Prince Albert reserves the right to edit a promotion for clarity and the right to deny submissions or remove submissions at any time and at its sole discretion. The likelihood of your promotion running depends on the number of events occurring at any given time.
