15th Avenue East to Close for Roadway Rehabilitation
The City of Prince Albert Public Works Department would like to advise residents of upcoming roadway rehabilitation work on 15th Avenue East between 22nd and 28th Street. The project includes asphalt milling, paving, and select concrete repairs. Please refer to the attached map for project limits.
Project Schedule: July 25 to July 31, 2026 (weather permitting)
Impacted Area: Construction activities will occur within the area outlined in red on the attached map.
This closure will have a significant impact on traffic, as Muzzy Drive and Barton Drive will be the only access points into and out of the Crescent Acres neighbourhood. The City recognizes this will cause inconvenience but is necessary to complete the work safely and efficiently.
The project addresses surface deterioration on one of the City's primary arterial roads. Due to the scope of the work, the road must be fully closed to ensure the safety of workers and motorists while allowing crews to complete the rehabilitation as quickly as possible.
Parking, Access and Traffic
- No on-street parking will be permitted on 15th Avenue East for the duration of the project.
- The intersection of 15th Avenue East and 28th Street is expected to remain closed throughout construction.
- Primary access to Crescent Acres will be maintained via Muzzy Drive, with Barton Drive available as a secondary detour for local traffic.
- During the majority of the project, local traffic on 15th Avenue East and Helme Crescent will be provided access to and from their homes (with some delay).
- Obey all road closure and detour signage.
- Respect construction crews and equipment working in the area.
- Drive with caution and reduce speeds in residential areas experiencing increased traffic.
The City appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as crews complete these important infrastructure improvements. Completing the work now will improve the condition of this heavily travelled roadway and provide a smoother, safer driving surface for residents.
Motorists are reminded to obey all construction signage and avoid entering the work zone for the safety of crews and the public.
