City Provides Update on Water Discolouration
The City of Prince Albert is providing residents with an update on the water discolouration reported in some areas of the city.
As reported on June 30, recent changes in the North Saskatchewan River have led to higher levels of naturally occurring organic matter entering the water treatment process. This has caused some residents to experience temporary discolouration of their tap water.
At this time, there is no major update to report. River water quality remains similar to last week, and the Water Treatment Plant continues to operate within established parameters. Water leaving the plant continues to meet or exceed all water quality requirements set by the Water Security Agency.
Residents experiencing discoloured water are encouraged to report the issue to the City:
- Solutions Hub by calling 306-953-4884
- Report a Concern portal. When submitting a report, please select the keyword "WATER - General Inquiry." Here's the link: https://srportal.citypa.ca/public
Reporting these concerns helps Public Works identify and map affected areas, investigate potential causes, and determine the most appropriate response for specific locations.
The City continues to closely monitor river conditions and adjust treatment processes as required to maintain the highest possible water quality. Updates will be provided should conditions change.
