Zoning Bylaw & Official Community Plan Amendment – Bylaw No. 17 & 18 Of 2026

Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Prince Albert intends to consider Bylaw No. 17 of 2026 to amend The City of Prince Albert Zoning Bylaw No. 1 of 2019, and Bylaw No. 18 of 2026 to amend The City of Prince Albert Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 21 of 2015.

Reason for the Amendment: At the City Council meeting held on May 11, 2026, first reading was given to Bylaw No. 17 of 2026 and Bylaw No. 18 of 2026, and Administration was authorized to provide public notification for a Public Hearing. Bylaw No. 17 of 2026 proposes to rezone the land legally described as Lots 1-2, Block 13, Plan CI2892 Ext. 0 from R2 – Small Lot Residential to CMU – Commercial Mixed Use. To support the proposed rezoning, Bylaw No. 18 of 2026 proposes to amend the Official Community Plan by changing the land use designation from Country Residential to Neighbourhood Mixed Use. The proposed amendments are intended to accommodate a business complex that would serve the day-to-day needs of the surrounding neighbourhood. The subject property is shown within the dashed line below:

Therefore, City Council, at its meeting to be held on June 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., will consider all submissions both written and verbal respecting the Public Hearing for the above bylaws.  If you would like your written submission reviewed by City Council PRIOR to the meeting, it would be preferable if it were provided by 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. In accordance with City Council’s Procedure Bylaw No. 23 of 2021, any written submissions must be provided to the City Clerk.  Verbal submissions shall be heard during the Public Hearing portion of the meeting.
