Community Accessibility Fair taking place July 28 at Alfred Jenkins Field House

The City of Prince Albert is inviting residents to attend a Community Accessibility Fair on Tuesday, July 28, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the playground area at the Alfred Jenkins Field House.

The outdoor event will provide an opportunity for individuals and families with lived and living experience of disability to share feedback, discuss accessibility challenges, and provide insight into how local spaces, programs, and policies can better serve the community.

The event will include a meeting of the City’s Accessibility Public Feedback Group in coordination with the Inclusive Playground Program, as well as a barbecue. Residents will also have the opportunity to connect with organizations and learn about programs and services that support individuals with disabilities, including the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) Mobile Hub.

The City continues to work toward improving accessibility across Prince Albert through its Accessibility Plan, developed in accordance with the Government of Saskatchewan Accessibility Plan. The Accessibility Public Feedback Group helps identify barriers, explore opportunities for improvement, and support long-term accessibility goals.

The meeting will take place outdoors. Attendees are encouraged to bring hats or umbrellas, water, and sunscreen. Chairs will be available near the playground area.
