City Street Operations Underway for Spring Maintenance
The City of Prince Albert advises residents that several seasonal street maintenance activities will be underway over the next few weeks as crews work to improve roadways and prepare for the busy summer construction season. Motorists are encouraged to plan for minor delays and use extra caution in work zones.
Upcoming and ongoing street operations include:
- Street Sweeping: Pre-cleaning has already begun, with full street sweeping operations starting May 19. Crews will focus on priority routes over the following three weeks.
- Bridge Cleaning: Cleaning work is already underway on the Diefenbaker Bridge, the Train Bridge, and the Highway overpass #3 over Highway 2 North. Crews are also working to complete both viaducts this week.
- Line Painting: Pre-marking has started, with line painting scheduled to begin on May 21, weather permitting.
- Pothole Patching: Pothole repairs are ongoing across the city, and crews continue to monitor road conditions daily.
- Crack Sealing: Crack sealing operations are expected to begin within the next one to three weeks.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and give crews plenty of space when passing through active work areas. Following posted signage and reducing speed helps protect workers and keep everyone safe.
Residents are also encouraged to report potholes and other street concerns through the City’s online service request portal: City Service Request Portal.
The City appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as this important maintenance work gets underway.
