City Expands Fall Aquatic Programming
The City of Prince Albert is expanding access to aquatic programming this fall with its largest selection of swimming lessons and certification courses ever offered at the Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre.
From September through December 2026, approximately 1,750 program spaces will be available across swimming lessons and a variety of leadership and lifeguard certification courses. The expanded schedule reflects strong demand for aquatic programming and the City's ongoing commitment to increasing access for residents of all ages.
"For many years, we've heard from parents and residents who wanted to see more swimming lesson opportunities in Prince Albert," said Riley Janes, Acting Aquatics Manager for the City of Prince Albert. "This expanded schedule is a direct response to that demand. By offering more lesson spaces than ever before, we're helping more children, youth, and adults gain essential swimming and water safety skills while making aquatic programming more accessible for our community."
Registration will be offered in two phases, allowing the City to monitor demand and adjust programming to maximize the number of available spaces.
Registration 1 – September/October
The first registration period includes September and October programs, with approximately 845 swimming lesson spaces available.
Registration dates are as follows:
- August 12: September and October programs available to view online
- August 19 at 10:00 a.m.: Resident registration opens
- August 26 at 10:00 a.m.: Non-resident registration opens
Registration 2 – November/December
Registration for November and December programs will open in October. Program offerings may be adjusted based on registration trends from the first registration period to better meet community demand.
Residents are encouraged to review available programs before registration opens to help ensure a smooth registration experience.
