What a summer 2023 has been, and it's only half over!
There is still lots to see, do and enjoy over the next month. We encourage everyone to get out and experience all of the programs and amenities the City has to offer in the summer! August starts off with the 138th Summer Fair! So much to see and do!

Kinsmen Water Park is open for public swimming EVERY DAY from 1-7 p.m. until August 20th. There is also public and lane swimming daily. Check out the calendar online.
Lake Country Co-Op presents Dog Day - Monday, August 21st at Kinsmen Water Park!
Plan to bring your pooch to KWP to cool off! More details will be announced soon so follow the Kinsmen Water Park website.
A reminder the Movie & Swim night presented by Co-Op is August 9th! Thanks to all the swimmers who pre-registered as the event is sold out!
We have awesome camps for children and youth with our Summer Staff Ria! There is Illustrate a Book, make a Ceramic Checker Board, Farmers Market Wednesday Arts, Woodburning and a few more – but they are filling fast! Check out these programs and other opportunities at the Arts Centre like the Groups & Guilds and Birthday Parties in our Summer Program Guide. The Fall Guide will be out late August – watch for that!
City Playground Program Continues until August 18th
Registration is now open for the Wildernook led Into the Woods Day on Thursday, August 3rd.
Check out the information about this great day in Little Red River Park as part of the City's Playground Program and led by Wildernook.
Children 8-12 can take part. It is a half day adventure in LRRP with bussing from select playground program locations included.
You must pre-register online.
The Inclusive Playground day is Tuesday, August 9th from9:30 am -11:30 a.m. at the JumpStart Playground at the Alfred Jenkins Field House.
This is an opportunity for children, or adults, with ability challenges to have exclusive time on the equipment designed especially for them at the AJFH Playground.
This is part of the Playground Program.
The playground program continues through Friday, August 18th.

Free Recreation Programs Brochure
The Summer Edition of the City’s Free Recreation Programs Brochure for activities is out and can be viewed at https://bit.ly/3MWjeWa.
Registration for Fall Swimming Lessons at the Frank J. Dunn Pool will open later this month. This includes registration for lifesaving and lifeguarding courses. ....stay tuned for registration dates and times.
Registration will be available online.
A reminder of the free outdoor basketball courts located at the Alfred Jenkins Field House! Thanks to Malcolm Jenkins these courts are available and free to use right through the evening hours!
The AJ Field House also offers Drop-in classes during August.

In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named "Rocky."

Vote for your favourite design!
Voting is open for residents of Prince Albert to vote for their favourite design in the shirt/merchandise design contest. The selection committee chose the final four designs out of 25 designs submitted by 15 artists.
The artists who made the final four designs are Cindy Peters, Orlanda Flett, and Tia Furstenberg. The winning design with the most votes will win $1000, and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place will each get $500 (each).
By actively participating in this voting process, you will help shape the future of Tourism Prince Albert's merchandise, showcasing our unique spirit and charm. We appreciate your engagement and look forward to unveiling the winning design that captures our City.
Voting Closes: Thursday August 3, 2023. The winner will be announced on Friday, August 4, 2023, on the City of Prince Albert's Facebook Page.

Museum Summer Hours are 9am to 5pm daily. All Museums are open at this time, more information and admission rates can be found on our website. The Rotary Museum of Police and Corrections, Evolution of Education Museum and the John and Olive Diefenbaker Museum will close for the summer season on Thursday August 31st.
The Historical Museum will close for the summer season, on August 31st. Winter hours (9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday) will start September 1.

Mann Art Gallery Summer Exhibits
Summer exhibitions run until Saturday, August 19
The following exhibits are on display until August 19. There is no admission fee to the Mann Art Gallery. Hours are Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 12 to 5 pm.
- Charley Ferraro presents A Certain Detour: over 60 plaques and sculptures produced over the past four years by Saskatchewan’s renowned ceramic artist.
- Dawna Rose and Betsy Rosenwald’s epic collaboration: Journal of the Plague Year(s): 2020–2023 is their response to the global pandemic and related political events.
- 53.2033° N, 105.7531° W is an innovative exhibition on Prince Albert from the Mann’s Permanent Collection, curated by Mikaela LeBlanc and Tekla Mattila.

Creative Kids

Creative Kids is a charitable program that funds Saskatchewan children who want to take music or dance lessons, learn to paint or act, speak a family language, explore different cultures, find out about their heritage, or join a number of other creative pursuits in their community. Creative Kids funds arts, heritage, multicultural and Aboriginal activities for families facing financial barriers. Hanna Yokozawa Farquharson: Calling

OSAC Arts on the Move Program
The exhibition, 'Calling', features the beautifully crafted and thoughtfully meditative fibre works of Saskatchewan artist, Hanna Yokozawa Farquharson. Originating from Japan, the artist's works draw upon the aesthetic and design principles of her cultural and professional background, while responding to the natural landscapes and experiences of her new home as a newcomer to Saskatchewan.
Arts Hall of Fame Gala
Tickets are now on sale for the 2022 & 2023 Prince Albert Arts Hall of Fame Induction Gala on September 29th! The evening will include cocktails at 6pm, dinner at 6:30pm, followed by the inductions at 7:30pm.
Individual tickets are $55.25, or purchase a table of six for $300. To buy, stop in at the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts Box Office or call 306-765-1270 (Monday to Saturday between 9am and 4:30pm).
