Skunks |
The City's Community Services Department provides skunk trapping and removal services for residential properties. This service is offered in April and again from August 1st to October 31st of each year, Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. This service is not offered during denning season (May to the end of July) ensuring that mothers are not inhumanely separated from their young. Pest Management will be offered for those residents that find a Skunk Den site on their property. Once Community Services is notified, we would contact a Contractor to set a trap at the residential location only (we do not approve the set up of traps on public or neighbouring properties). If there is not a den site found on the property the City will not provide skunk trapping services. Once approval is received from Community Services, the homeowner will be entitled to the Skunk Removal Program which includes the initial set-up of a skunk trap and removal of said trap and skunk disposal. Anything over and above the one call-out charge will be at the cost to the homeowner. Trapping requests from repeat addresses will require a new separate work order approved by Community services for each additional call out to qualify for the program. If you would like a trap or more information on the program, you can contact Community Services at 306-953-4800. |
