City Facility Hours: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Events

There are events throughout the City that will commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation:

• September 28 - Blanket Exercise at 7:00 pm - hosted at the Arts Centre
• September 30 - Prince Albert Grand Council - Every Child Matters Walk at 10:00 am - Walk from River Street MMIWG Monument to Prince Albert Grand Council

• September 30 - Prince Albert Indian and Metis Friendship Centre (PAIMFC) & Navy League Walk at 3:00 pm - Walk from Court of King's Bench to City Hall

• September 30 - PAIMFC & First Nations University of Canada Feast and Round Dance from 5:00 pm-12:00 am - Feast and Round Dance will be hosted at the Friendship Centre

• September 30 - Prince Albert Historical Museum Free Admission from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm

• Orange Shirt Day Stencil - Organizations and businesses can borrow the stencil for your window or sidewalk, email jmacleodcampbell@citypa.com

Also known as Orange Shirt Day, wearing orange on September 30, continues to be a way to honour Indian Residential Schools Survivors. We honour Survivors, their families, and communities and commit to furthering our education and reconciliation. 

Hours on Monday Oct 2nd (When Sept 30th is observed)

A number of City facilities have revised schedules for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.  The facilities schedule below shows the hours of operation for Monday Oct 2nd, 2023 when the holiday will be observed . 

• Art Hauser Centre – Arena: Open 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
• EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts: OPEN
• Dave G Steuart Arena: 7:30 a.m. – 12 a.m.
• Knotty Pine Bistro – Cosmo Lodge: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Historical Society: Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Kinsmen Arena: Open 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
• Landfill: Open 8 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
• Transit Service: Operating as normal.

• Alfred Jenkins Field House: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Art Hauser Centre – Office: CLOSED
• PA Arts Centre: CLOSED
• City Hall: CLOSED
• Municipal Service Centre: CLOSED
• South Hill Cemetery Office: CLOSED
• Frank J. Dunn Pool: CLOSED on Sat Sept 30th for Holiday. Oct 2nd: FJD is open for lane swim 6 a.m.-8:30 a.m.
