Post-Secondary Institutions

A strong post-secondary presence is a cornerstone of Prince Albert's community growth. As home to multiple post-secondary institutions, Prince Albert offers residents and students a diverse range of educational opportunities close to home.

Located in the heart of downtown, students can start or complete degrees in the Colleges of Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Education, Kinesiology and Nursing, and the Edwards School of Business. Additionally, students can complete one year of study in dentistry, medicine, nutrition, pharmacy, physical therapy and veterinary medicine.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is Saskatchewan’s only polytechnic and the province’s primary institution for post-secondary applied education and research. Saskatchewan Polytech offers certificate, diploma, and degree programs and apprenticeship technical training.

Prince Albert’s campus serves 2,006 students and employs about 250 people. Programs are offered at the Prince Albert Campus in the areas of business; carpentry; hospitality and tourism; mining, energy and manufacturing; natural resources and built environment; and nursing.

First Nations University is a federated college of the University of Regina, and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in business, humanities, social sciences, and sciences - many incorporating Indigenous worldviews, traditions, and languages.

The Gabriel Dumont Institute offers a variety of university based, skills training, and basic education programs, and all programs are offered in partnership with other educational institutions. Programs include the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP); practical nursing; and the heavy equipment and truck and transport technician program.

SIIT provides adult learners with academic, vocational and technical training, as well as services and supports for employment and career growth in market-relevant programs. Current programs include business administration; mental health and wellness; and construction.
