Groups can register to receive free pick-up bags.
There will be 4 sites around the city during the week to bring household garbage, metals, electronics, etc. to unclutter your house and yard for spring and summer!
The Prince Albert Arts Centre Spring Program Guide has lots of programs coming up in May, so come make some art!
We have Spring Yoga, Sunshine Chimes, Beer & Burning, Pottery – Make a Teapot, Mini Beaded Lanyard, Drum Making, Turquoise Rings, and more! A new session of fitness classes are getting underway at the Alfred Jenkins Field House. New classes this spring include: Club Bell Flow HIIT, Kettlebell Flow, TRX Fusion and Kickbox & Core. See the AJFH Program Guide for all the classes offered.
The Field House also has a full schedule of Drop-In classes for those who can't commit to a regular program.
And the Jump Start Inclusive Playground at the Field House is as busy as ever! Check out the 17,000 square foot play area!

E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts
May 5th the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts is proud to once again in conjunction with the Gabriel Dumont Institute, host the 2nd Colours Of The Sash showcase and educational event! On May 4th students from around Prince Albert and area will assemble to learn about Metis culture from a long list of educators, and they'll also be treated to a live music performance with Donny Parenteau and guests! Then on May 5th the public is invited to a diverse live music event with a long list of talented and established performers, including Prince Albert's own Donny Parenteau!

Artists from SHARE, The Nest, and Acquired Brain Injury
May 2 to 25
Opening Reception: Monday, May 2 -3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The John V. Hicks Gallery presents The Healing Journey. This exhibition showcases the expressive art of participants in art therapy programs from SHARE, The Nest, and Acquired Brain Injury. These programs let individuals explore different kinds of art media, to help foster creativity, individuality, promote mindfulness and aide in relaxation. The process of expressive art can assist survivors to overcome many personal challenges, be a valuable tool while managing stress, and help in the healing process and rehabilitation.

Mann Art Gallery Exhibits & Events

Opening Reception: Thursday, April 21 @ 7PM
Her Industry, Reclaimed is an homage to Babyn's late mother Rollande, as well as to generations of mothers and other women who have toiled and continue to work within the textile industry in domestic, industrial and creative spaces. This project explores a variety of textile processes that women have historically advanced, such as embroidery, mending, sewing, crocheting and more recently, needle felting, through the creation of tapestries made of up-cycled textiles.
Elizabeth Babyn holds a B.F.A. (2005) from OCAD and a M.F.A. (2011) from USASK. She worked and taught as an artist in Caledon (OT) before moving to Saskatoon in 2011.
April 14 - May 28
Opening Reception: Thursday, April 21 @ 7PM
The Reunion addresses memories of absent spaces and missing objects through furniture miniatures. Negar Devine-Tajgardan uses dissolvable fabric for its fragile quality and ability to speak to the vulnerability of life. This project focuses on the physical spaces of memory, beginning with the artist's own experiences of displacement and immigration.
Negar Devine-Tajgardan is of Middle Eastern background, living in Saskatoon, SK Canada. She specializes in sculpture, installation art and photography, having received her MFA at the University of Saskatchewan. Her art has been shown across Canada and in Iran.

Opening Reception & Awards: Thursday, April 14 @ 7PM
Each year for the past ten years, the Mann Art Gallery has presented art by local high school students in the Project and Education Studio Galleries of our beautiful space. This year, during the typical High School Juried Art Show period, we are determined to showcase and celebrate the artistic achievements and creative vision of talented students in-person!
On May 24 Museum Summer Hours start and are 9am to 5pm daily. All Museums are open at this time, more information and admission rates can be found on our website.
On May 11th from 2 to 4 pm will be the annual Crocus High Tea at the Historical Museum. Cost is $10.00 per person. Watch for posters and social media posts.

Creative Kids is a charitable program that funds Saskatchewan children who want to take music or dance lessons, learn to paint or act, speak a family language, explore different cultures, find out about their heritage, study dinosaur bones, or join a number of other creative pursuits in their community. Creative Kids funds arts, heritage, multicultural and Aboriginal activities for families facing financial barriers. For more information about Creative Kids in our district, visit the Lakeland District for Sport, Culture and Recreation website. The next deadline (for summer activities) is May 27.

PAGC Fine Arts Festival
May 16 to 19 in the Ches Leach Lounge, Art Hauser Centre
The Fine Arts Festival is for students in PAGC Schools from K-12 in the Northern part of the province to come in and display their artistic abilities and talents. All of the competitions are also a part of the school curriculum; visual arts, crafts, literature, photography, new technology categories, drama, music, 5 different areas of dance. It is a weeklong event that brings in approximately 1500 students and chaperones to the city as well as family and friends that come in to cheer on their kids.
May 26-28 - Prince Albert Arts Centre – 1010 Central Avenue
The Aurora Art Show & Sale is coming up May 26-28 at the Prince Albert Arts Centre. Local artists will have their paintings, pottery, photography, kaleidoscopes and more! Come out and enjoy a safe art show and sale! Check out their Facebook page for more information.
Friday, June 10 - E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts
The evening will feature entertainment by Kevin Joseph and The Round Plain Jr's, and equally entertaining will be our emcees, Sheila and Mitch Holash. Attendees will enjoy catering by Randy Whitter.
