After years of quarterly billing, the City of Prince Albert will be issuing monthly water bills starting in June. The move is expected to give customers a more timely view of their usage, what they owe and provide for payments in more manageable monthly amounts.
“Quarterly billing was a cost saving measure years ago, but we’ve consistently heard from customers that it’s difficult to budget for three months worth of usage,” said Natara Kulcher, Service Delivery Coordinator for the City of Prince Albert. “It can also be extremely difficult if a leak goes undetected. At times, the first sign there is a problem are the usage charges on the bill and after three months these can be quite high.”
All customers will receive a bill in June, but there will be a period of transition for the first month. Customers will receive an invoice for all unbilled amounts from the date of their last invoice up to June 4, 2020. This will bring all accounts current and by July, all customers will get a bill for one month of usage.
Customers are encouraged to download the City’s new Eye on Water app which allows account holders to view monthly water usage and set up leak detection alerts. Download the app on the App Store or Google Play Store. To sign up all you need is your account number (found on your water bill) and postal code.
