The City of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation (SCIC), and Communities Building Youth Futures (CBYF) are excited to reveal the mural Kistahpinanihk, “the great meeting place,” in the green space at the corner of Central Avenue and 11th Street.
The mural results from a collaboration between the three organizations and a weeklong workshop guided by Artist Bruno Hernani.
The youth participants named the mural Kistahpinanihk “the great meeting place.” In Cree, Kistahpinanihk can be translated as “the gathering place.” It speaks to their collaboration throughout the mural workshop, which allowed them to share, connect with their roots, talk about the future, and work together through art. Darcy Oake | Illusionist
Over 200 million viewers tuned in to Britain’s Got Talent to witness the birth of a phenomenon: the unveiling of an electrifying new illusionist, Darcy Oake. From sleight of hand to death-defying escapades, this master magician grabbed the world’s attention, ushering in an exciting new era of an age-old art form.
Darcy is a performance artist whose modern interpretation gratifies the hunger of audiences seeking spectacle and nail-biting feats of illusion. Inspired by classic sleight of hand techniques, Darcy transports the crowd to another dimension with exhilarating visuals and logic-defying exploits.
Today, Darcy proudly carries on the tradition of such classic illusionists as his fellow Canadian Doug Henning, while adding his trademark grandeur and charm.

Love in Every Stitch
September 8 – November 5, 2022
Reception: Saturday, September 10
from 2 – 4:30 pm
Love in Every Stitch features the tangible stories of Métis women artists currently living in Kistapinanihk (the Prince Albert, SK region). Through the support of lead artists Leah Marie Dorion and Bonny Johnson, all participants were educated about the historic High Plains Métis Style Ribbon Skirt pattern and teachings; this served as the common framework for each of their sewing expressions.
Enclosing Some Snapshots:
The Photography of James Brady
September 15 – November 5, 2022
Curated by Seesequasis & Petit
James Brady's life (1908-1968) is intrinsically linked to the history and politics of Métis communities in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Known primarily as a political activist, along with his life-long comrade Malcolm Norris, there was another side to Brady that is less known – his penchant for taking photographs. This touring exhibition is the first exhibition of these images, now in the Glenbow collections. (PS)
