Prince Albert, Sk. – The City of Prince Albert is pleased to announce that the new playground at AC Howard Park (located in the interior area of Bliss Crescent) is set to begin construction in mid-June with completion targeted for mid-July, depending on weather. The updated playground design came about after public consultation with nearby residents earlier this year. Visuals of the new playground including a video of a similar playground are available on the AC Howard Park Plan webpage.
“It is very exciting for the neighbourhood," commented Blake Edwards, Councilor for Ward 6, where the playground is located. “They were happy to have input in the planning and are now very excited to see the new park come to fruition.”
The playground will include features not found at any other playground in the city. The upgrade also will include 3 round picnic tables with concrete bases, 2 slate back and seat style benches with concrete bases, 3 garbage/recycling bins and a new park entrance sign.
This upgrade is part of the City’s Playground Replacement Program.
