Zoning Bylaw Amendment – Bylaw No. 26 Of 2025
Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Prince Albert intends to consider Bylaw No. 26 of 2025 to amend The City of Prince Albert Zoning Bylaw No. 1 of 2019.
Reason for the Bylaw: At its meeting on October 27th, 2025, City Council gave 1st reading to Bylaw No. 26 of 2025 and directed Administration to provide Public Notice for a Public Hearing. The bylaw amendment proposes to incorporate regulations into the Zoning Bylaw that allow for the permitted use development of up to four (4) dwelling units per site (four units as-of-right) in the following zoning districts:
- R1 – Large Lot Residential
- R2 – Small Lot Residential
- R3 – Medium Density Residential
- R4 – High Density Residential
- RMU – Residential Mixed Use
This proposed Zoning Bylaw amendment is a Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund (CHIF) application requirement. The City intends to apply to CHIF for over $36,000,000.00 to support the coming upgrades to the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Therefore, City Council, at its meeting to be held on Monday, November 17th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., will consider all submissions, both written and verbal, respecting the Public Hearing for the above bylaw amendment.
If you would like your written submission reviewed by City Council PRIOR to the meeting, it would be preferable if it were provided by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025. Please note, with the statutory holiday on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, you are welcome to email cityclerk@citypa.com with your submission.
In accordance with City Council’s Procedure Bylaw No. 23 of 2021, any written submissions must be provided to the City Clerk. Verbal submissions shall be heard during the Public Hearing portion of the meeting.
