Snow Removal Operations Continue Across Prince Albert

The City of Prince Albert advises residents that snow removal operations remain ongoing, with crews continuing to clear priority emergency routes and making steady progress. Due to the duration and amount of precipitation during the recent snow event, crews have needed to return to emergency routes to maintain safe access.

"Our Roadways crew has been working long hours to keep up with the heavy snowfall, needing to return to emergency routes that had already cleared. They worked 16 hours yesterday and started again early this morning." Says Jeff Da Silva, Director of Public Works. "We’ll be working as many hours as safely possible to keep traffic moving, starting with emergency routes, then transit routes, and finally throughout the rest of the City."

A Downtown snow lift is planned for Sunday to address significant accumulation in the Downtown Business District. Contractors are being brought in as they become available to assist with snow removal efforts, which is common practice during larger snow events.

Snow Route Parking Ban
A Snow Route Parking Ban is currently in effect. The parking ban will require drivers to immediately remove their vehicles from Snow Routes, as indicated by snow route signs.

Transit Service
Transit services are currently experiencing impacts due to road conditions. Crews are working to restore transit routes and return to normal operations as soon as possible. Any schedule changes due to the snowstorm will be posted on the Transit News page.

Report a Concern
Blowing snow may make some roads impassable. Residents are reminded to report impassable roads and other snow-related concerns online through the City’s Report a Concern Portal at: https://srportal.citypa.ca/public or through the Solutions Hub.

The City would like to thank everyone for their patience and support as we tackle this snow together. When you see graders and loaders at work, please slow down and give our crews plenty of space.

The City will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates as needed.
