SaskEnergy to Complete Planned Flare in City Limits

SaskEnergy will conduct a controlled flare on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at the SaskEnergy Town Border Station, which is located on the southwest edge of the City of Prince Albert, south of 36th Street West and west of 4th Avenue West, directly west of the Rose Garden Hospice.

While the infrastructure is isolated from the rest of the system, flaring must remove the remaining gas before work commences. Flaring is an industry standard procedure when natural gas needs to be released from a gas line, and it reduces the carbon footprint of the vented natural gas by 85 percent. For more information about flaring and its purposes, please watch the SaskEnergy video at the following link: SaskEnergy Spotlight: Natural Gas Flaring.

The proposed flaring will start at approximately 8:00 a.m. on September 16th, 2025, and last for approximately one hour, but this is subject to change based on operating requirements.

Please note that there will be no interruptions to existing residential, commercial, or industrial gas services during these activities.
