Increased Service Requests Following Thaw-Freeze Conditions
The City of Prince Albert has received numerous snow-related service requests over the past week as warm weather continued across the region. As expected, these conditions softened snow on roads, especially at neighbourhood entrances and busy spots, where traffic volume and the use of salt led to ruts.
With colder temperatures returning, the previously softened snow has now hardened, creating challenging driving conditions in some areas. Snow operations crews are actively targeting locations where ruts and rough surfaces have been identified through inspections and resident reports.
As next week begins, crews will continue focusing on known trouble spots and any additional areas where ruts or poor road conditions are a concern. While service request volumes remain higher than normal, crews are actively processing, reviewing, and addressing concerns as they move through their workload.
The Most Effective Way to Report Snow-Related Concerns
Residents are strongly encouraged to report ruts, sightline issues, and other snow-related street concerns through the City’s online service request portal. Submitting a report creates a direct service request for snow operations and is the most effective way to ensure concerns are addressed.

The City appreciates residents’ patience and understanding as crews continue to work through changing winter conditions. Motorists are reminded to slow down, allow extra travel time, and drive according to road conditions.
