The City of Prince Albert will host its annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Municipal Service Centre (11, 38th Street East).

This annual event, organized by the City’s Sanitation Division, gives residents an important opportunity to dispose of hazardous materials from their homes safely. Many of these items are toxic or flammable and require special handling to prevent harm to people, property, and the environment.

Accepted items include (but are not limited to):

  • Anti-freeze

  • Adhesives

  • Aerosols

  • Automotive and household batteries

  • Cleaners and corrosives

  • Fuels

  • Mercury

  • Oxidizers

  • Poisons

  • Paint and spray paint

  • Pharmaceuticals

  • Solvents

Reminder: Please keep labels on all containers. Labels help staff identify substances quickly and ensure proper disposal.

Not accepted at HHW Day:

  • Electronics – return through SARCAN (SWEEP program)

  • Used oil, oil filters & containers, tires, propane tanks – take to the Prince Albert Landfill

  • Biological, infectious, radioactive, explosive, ammunition, or industrial waste

The City encourages residents to take advantage of this event to clear out unwanted items safely and responsibly.
