The City of Prince Albert is partnering with the Mann Art Gallery’s Education Program on a new partnership, a one-year pilot initiative designed to strengthen arts education and community programming. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the two organizations, effective September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026.

This partnership formalizes an already strong and creative working relationship between the two organizations. By combining resources, the collaboration aims to provide high-quality educational and artistic programming for the community while maximizing the use of both organizations’ facilities and assets.

Goals of the Partnership:

  • Address space limitations at the Mann Art Gallery for preparatory work and meetings.
  • Provide a secure, safe, and private office space for the Mann Art Gallery’s Manager of Education Programs (MOEP).
  • Increase daytime programming at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre (MFAC), including greater use of community resources such as the Groups & Guilds, specialized arts equipment, the Pottery Studio, and John V. Hicks Gallery exhibits.

The MOEP will remain an employee of the Mann Art Gallery under its existing reporting structure, and no existing staff at either facility will be replaced because of this partnership.

Under the new arrangement, the MOEP will be based at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with public programming available Wednesdays starting in December 2025. Offerings will include both registered and drop-in programs, as well as school and group bookings. Programming will focus on hand-building pottery, screen printing, textiles, and hands-on art history. On Thursdays and Fridays, the MOEP will work from the Mann Art Gallery, with flexibility for scheduling as needed.

“We are pleased to enter into a pilot partnership to provide increased access to professional arts education in Prince Albert. Given the shared history between the Mann Art Gallery and the Margo Fournier Arts Centre, with the MAG having operated at the Arts Centre prior to moving to the E.A. Rawlinson Centre in 2003, it is fitting that we combine our resources for the benefit of both organizations and the broader community,” said Jesse Campbell, Artistic Director at the Mann Art Gallery.

“This is a terrific way for community arts facilities and organizations to work together to maximize space and resources,” said Judy MacLeod Campbell, Arts and Culture Manager, City of Prince Albert. “It frees up limited space at the Mann Art Gallery while enhancing the daytime use of specialized arts equipment at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre.”
