City of Prince Albert Addresses Road Conditions Following Recent Snowfall
The City of Prince Albert recognizes that recent heavy snowfall, combined with fluctuating temperatures, has made travel more challenging for residents. Melting during the day, followed by overnight refreezing, has led to slush and ruts, creating bumpy, uneven road conditions in some areas.
City crews have been clearing snow full-time over the past week and are continuing to follow a priority-based snow-clearing plan. Ongoing snowfall has required crews to repeatedly return to these priority routes, which can delay work in other areas, including residential streets.
Crews are actively monitoring road conditions and scheduling grading and snow removal where it will be most effective. When residents report severe ruts, a duty foreman will assess the street, with the worst-affected locations addressed first.
The Most Effective Way to Report Snow-Related Concerns
Residents are strongly encouraged to report ruts and sightline issues through the City’s online service request portal. Submitting a report creates a direct service request for snow operations and is the most effective way to report snow-related street concerns.
- Report concerns at: https://srportal.citypa.ca/public (use the keyword Snow – Street Concern).

This Week’s Snow Clearing Schedule:
- Tuesday: Snow removal was completed on 10th Street, from 1st Avenue East to 1st Avenue West. Crews then returned to Priority 1 routes, which will be completed today.
- Wednesday: Early morning, crews will perform a snow lift on 12th Street from 1st Avenue East to 2nd Avenue West, then return to Priority 2 routes. Work on Priority 2 routes will continue on Friday.
- Sunday: A full snow lift of the Downtown area is scheduled.
Next Week:
- Crews will continue work on Priority 2 routes, unless additional snowfall requires a return to Priority 1 routes.
The City appreciates residents’ patience and understanding as crews continue working through winter conditions. Motorists are reminded to slow down, allow extra travel time, and drive according to road conditions.
