The City of Prince Albert’s Broadway North Youth Company (BNYC) is excited to announce that this year’s fall production will be Matilda JR.—a story that celebrates bravery, imagination, and the power of youth to create change.
The 2025 Fall Program will run on Saturdays from September 6 to November 22, with performances scheduled from November 27 to December 6 at the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts. For the first time, the program will feature two casts, each performing six shows. Audiences can look forward to six matinee performances for schools and four evening and two weekend matinee shows for the public.
“I’m incredibly excited for Broadway North’s Junior Theatre Company to bring Matilda to the stage this fall,” says Director Kayleigh Skomorowski. “Matilda is a show that celebrates the power of young people—their courage, their imagination, and their right to be heard. It’s fun, heartfelt, and deeply relevant. I can’t wait to see our young performers rise to the challenge and make it their own.”
BNYC offers a valuable developmental experience for youth, providing training in acting, music, and dance from local professionals.
“This is my inaugural year as General Manager of the EA Rawlinson Centre, and I am truly honoured that it also marks the 30th Anniversary of Broadway North,” says Cory Philley, General Manager. “Matilda is a show for the times, celebrating resilience and the ability to create positive change—ideas we need more of in this world. Kayleigh is a passionate & dedicated director, and I can’t wait to see what her creative team, cast and crew will achieve.”
Following the success of Willy Wonka JR. in 2024, BNYC invites audiences once again to experience the talent and energy of young performers in Prince Albert.
