Prince Albert Evolution of Education

Explore the history of education with a visit to our Evolution of Education Museum at 3700C - 2 Avenue West. This building, constructed in 1920, served as a one-room schoolhouse in Claytonville, an area 20 miles northeast of Prince Albert that was named after postmaster Clayton Smith. The school was in use until 1963. The Evolution of Education Museum was originally opened by the University Women's Club in 1989, the Historical Society took over the day to day operations in 2005.

The school is furnished as it was during the school's use and contains school desks, a library, a wood stove, slate boards, the strap, gopher tails and sports equipment once used by school children.
