Why is the Manager of Education Programs (MoEP) working out of the Margo Fournier Arts Centre some of the time?
By combining resources, the collaboration between the Mann Art Gallery and Margo Fourner Arts Centre/City of Prince Albert aims to provide high-quality educational and artistic programming for the community while maximizing the use of both organizations’ facilities and assets.
Goals of the Partnership:
- Address space limitations at the Mann Art Gallery for preparatory work and meetings.
- Provide a secure, safe, and private office space for the Mann Art Gallery’s Manager of Education Programs (MoEP)
- Increase daytime programming at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre (MFAC), including greater use of community resources such as the Groups & Guilds, specialized arts equipment, the Pottery Studio, and John V. Hicks Gallery exhibits.
How often does the MoEP work at each facility?
Under the new arrangement, the MOEP will be based at the Margo Fournier Arts Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with public programming available Wednesdays starting in December 2025. Offerings will include both registered and drop-in programs, as well as school and group bookings. Programming will focus on hand-building pottery, screen printing, textiles, and hands-on art history. On Thursdays and Fridays, the MOEP will work from the Mann Art Gallery, with flexibility for scheduling as needed.
How has this affected Mann Art Gallery programing?
- It will allow the Mann Art Gallery to shift some focus to training arts’ instructor, creating more capacity in the community to deliver arts programming.
- It will allow the Mann Art Gallery more space for work with their permanent collection.
- It will allow the MoEP a secure, private, and dedicated office space for administration work and art program preparation.
- The Mann Art Gallery programming will remain essentially the same.
