The Prince Albert Fire Department is proud to announce the addition of a new fire engine, designated E13, to its fleet. This custom-built unit replaces a 24-year-old engine that had reached the end of its operational lifespan. The investment from capital reserves to purchase Engine 13 is approximately $1.3 million.
E13 was designed to meet the Department’s operational needs and is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic pump control system. The advanced touchscreen interface replaces traditional mechanical levers and improves fire crews' accuracy, efficiency, and ease of use during emergencies.
“This new engine is a significant investment in the safety of our community,” said Fire Chief Kris Olsen. “Having a custom-built unit like E13 allows us to meet the specific challenges we face in Prince Albert and ensures our firefighters have the tools they need to respond quickly and effectively.”
The engine is currently assigned as the Department’s first-arriving unit, the lead vehicle deployed in response to most emergency calls in the city. It is expected to serve the residents of Prince Albert for the next 20 years.
The City of Prince Albert remains committed to ensuring its emergency services are well-equipped to meet the community's needs.
