The Prince Albert Exhibition (PAEX) has opened its campground to offer free RV and trailer campsites to individuals and families evacuating from areas impacted by wildfires in northern Saskatchewan.
Fifty fully serviced sites are now available, with an additional 25 opening on Monday. Sites include electricity, water, and sewer hook-ups. Overflow camping is also available for units that do not require sewer or water. On-site amenities include washrooms and a shower house.
Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Evacuees are asked to contact the campground directly at 306-960-1743 to check availability and register. Individuals will be asked to provide their name, phone number, email address, and location from which they were evacuated.
Campers are reminded to follow PAEX campground rules, which include:
- Quiet time after 11:00 p.m.
- No open fires
- Pets must be kept on a leash
“We’re here to support the people who had to leave their homes so suddenly,” said Debra Despins, General Manager of the Prince Albert Exhibition. “We want to make sure they have a safe and comfortable place to stay while things settle down.”
Edited to add: Northern Lights Casino's RV parking is full.
