Free Landfill Passes

The landfill pass program gives utility customers that pay a sanitation fee, four (4)  passes to the landfill. Please see below for program criteria and limitations.

All households who pay a sanitation fee before January 1st of the current year qualify for four free passes to the landfill.

If you did not pay a sanitation fee until after January 1st you will only qualify for the program during the following quarter of the billing cycle. (i.e. If you sign up between Jan. 1st to Mar. 31st you will be allocated 3 (after Apr. 1st), Apr. 1st to Jun. 30th you will be allocated 2 (after July 1st), and July 1st to Sept. 30th you will be allocated 1 (after Oct. 1st).

If you do not pay a sanitation fee (which can include businesses and some apartments/condos), you do not qualify for this program. Please check your water utility bill to confirm if you pay the fee. The sanitation fee pays for landfill operating expenses.

You will need to present the landfill attendant with a City water utility paper or emailed bill from within the last three months. Unused passes from a prior year cannot be applied to the next calendar year.

Please Note: Use of the passes is not limited to the name that appears on the water account. The City will not mediate any disputes that arise out of accesses that were used without the knowledge of the account holder. Any water bill for an active account is considered a pass card and will be accepted without question. The City of Prince Albert has the right to suspend, ban from the Landfill or discontinue the pass system to anyone that misuses this program.

One pass will cover the cost of a load under 150 kg. You may combine your passes and pay any outstanding amounts. (i.e. If you arrive at the landfill with 300kg of waste two of your four free passes may be used).
