Emergencies

Prince Albert helps keep our community safe through emergency services, planning and preparedness.

If an emergency or disaster happens, call 9-1-1 immediately and ask for police, fire, or ambulance. If you dial 9-1-1 by mistake, do not hang up; all 9-1-1 calls must be investigated.

Notification to the appropriate response organizations is the first step to getting help.

Emergency Alerts

Sask Alerts is the Government of Saskatchewan's emergency public alerting program that provides critical information on emergencies in real time. Alerts can be issued by Environment Canada, Government of Saskatchewan ministries, Crowns and agencies as well as participating local governing jurisdictions. You may download the SaskAlert App to receive notifications on your Android (Google Play) or iOS (App Store) device or visit SaskAlert.

Emergency Preparedness

Emergency plans are made in advance so we are prepared and ready to respond in any type of community emergency. The Emergency Preparedness Planning Committee (EPPC) meets to assess and act on emergency planning issues following the City of Prince Albert Emergency Planning Bylaw 34.

When a natural disaster strikes, it can take first responders up to 72 hours to help those in non-critical situations. Do not wait until it is too late.
