Examples of Past Projects
Projects could include murals, artistic furniture projects like a painted piano or flower boxes, small sculptures, or creative and interactive art.
École Holy Cross School - Reflection
École Holy Cross School partnered with Métis artist Leah Marie Dorion to create a series of vibrant murals installed on the exterior of the school. Leah collaborated closely with staff and students to design and paint the works, guiding them through the artistic process while sharing stories and teachings about Métis culture and history.
The project fostered creativity, cultural learning, and community pride, leaving a lasting visual celebration of Métis heritage within the school.
Murals at Prince Albert Historical Museum
The first applicant and project in 2018 was the Murals for the Indigenous Peoples Exhibit at the Prince Albert Historical Museum.
This was an excellent example of the types of collaborative public art projects that can happen in our community with the help of the Public Art Stimulus Partnership Fund.
