Using your pass, ticket, or cash fare

Plan your route to your destination and go to the nearest bus stop. When you get on the bus, you must show a monthly bus pass, or pay for your trip with prepaid tickets or cash.

  • Passes – when you enter the bus show the driver your bus pass and go to your seat. Make sure that the driver can see the date on the pass.
  • Tickets and Cash – Drop the ticket or exact change into the slot on the top of the Fare Box. If you need more than one bus to complete your trip, ask the driver for a transfer slip. Please have exact fare as the driver will not make change.

Discounted Fares

Ministry of Social Services Clients under the following programs are eligible to purchase a monthly bus pass at a discounted rate of $25.

  • Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS)
  • Saskatchewan Employment Supplement (SES)
  • Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disabilities (SAID)
  • Saskatchewan Employment Incentive (SEI)

The Ministry of Social Services Discounted Bus Pass is only available at City Hall – 1084 Central Avenue.

 

Applications are made once each quarter at the front counter on the main floor at City Hall.

Program verification is required quarterly as follows.

  • January 1st
  • April 1st
  • July 1st
  • October 1st

 

Once approved, individuals may purchase one discounted pass per month for themselves and for members of their immediate family until the next program verification date (January 1, April 1, July 1 or October 1). Applicants must provide proof (with a cheque stub or letter from Ministry of Social Services and 1 piece of photo ID) that they are eligible clients in one of the above programs.

 

Immediate Family members include – Spouse, plus any children under the age of 18 years- are eligible to purchase passes under your application.

Both the Prince Albert Roman Catholic School Division and Saskatchewan Rivers School Division offer subsidized transit passes to their students at the following high schools. Please reach out to your school to verify the price of your pass.

  • St. Mary's High School – 380 14th Street West
  • Prince Albert Collegiate Institute – 45 20th Street West
  • Carlton Comprehensive High School – 665 28th Street West
  • Wesmor – 1819 14th Avenue West

Post-Secondary Bus passes are available everywhere passes are sold. Students registered as a student at a qualifying post-secondary educational institution are eligible to purchase the $65 bus pass.
