Halloween Transit Tips

Halloween is this Friday, and Prince Albert Transit wants to ensure everyone has a fun evening. So, if you’re planning to take the bus this Halloween, let’s save the tricks and focus on treating ourselves and our fellow passengers to an enjoyable and safe evening out.

Let Passengers Get Off the Bus First

Wait until all ghosts and goblins have gotten off the bus before getting on. Stand to the side of the door while waiting for others to exit the bus.

Be Ready

As always, have your bus pass or ticket in hand when getting onto the bus. Everyone must have a bus pass or ticket to ride. If you need a transfer ticket, be sure to request one from the driver as soon as you get on the bus.

Plan Your Route

Prince Albert Transit allows you to get from one side of the city to the other and runs until 10:15 p.m. on October 31. Remember that transit switches to hourly routes after 6 p.m. Please arrive at your bus stop at least 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled pickup time.

Be Delightful while Riding Transit, not Frightful

Have fun and be courteous. No swearing, loud music or loud conversations on speakerphone, and no smoking, vaping, or alcohol. Keep the aisles clear for other passengers and leave the seats up front for seniors or those who are less mobile. Please take your candy wrappers with you.

Dress Scary or Not, and No Weapons on the Bus

Choose a well-lit costume and consider adding reflective pieces to make it easier for all drivers to spot you while trick or treating. Make sure your costume is not restrictive and is short enough to avoid tripping while stepping on or off the bus. Weapons are not allowed on the bus, including imitation weapons.

Travel in a Group

Go with friends this Halloween and be sure everyone knows where to meet up in case you are separated. Have your cell phones charged and let loved ones know the areas you will be haunting this Halloween.

Allow Transit Drivers to do their Job Safely

Do not stand in any way that limits the driver’s view. If you have a large Halloween costume prop, it cannot interfere with others riding the bus, or those trying to get on or off.

Lose Something?

If you’ve left your Halloween treat bag or any other personal belongings on the bus, please first go back to your stop to wait for the bus. When the bus comes back around, you can check for your belongings. If nothing is found, please email transit@citypa.com to report your lost items. Please include a description of the items and your contact information.

Witch-ing everyone a fun-filled Halloween and a spine-tingling great time full of thrills. Happy Halloween!
