Street Sweeping Operations Underway

Prince Albert, Sask. –

City crews will be starting full street sweeping operations on Monday, May 4, 2020  but crews have been out already in targeted areas where conditions allowed for it and next week they will focus on the downtown.

“Freezing temperatures cause ice build up in the gutters which prevents a thorough cleaning,” said Brent Kennedy, Roadways Manager for the City. “With consistent warmer temperatures we can get full operations underway starting with the downtown as early as next week.”

Street sweeping operations follow the same priority schedule as snow clearing with arterial streets first. The City would like to remind motorists to keep a safe distance from street sweeping equipment, as visibility will be reduced by dust and flying debris.

Further information on the order of residential street sweeping will be released when available.
