Good news for transit users! The trial to extend City Transit hours will begin Monday, June 12, 2023, and extend to March 31, 2024. City Council voted to extend transit hours on February 13, 2023. The extended transit hours trial aims to improve access to work, education, community events, recreation, shopping, and more.
“Extending service until 10:15 pm allows residents to accept jobs with later hours, pursue evening education courses, attend community events and shop for groceries at normal business/school hours,” says Evan Hastings, Transportation Manager for the City of Prince Albert.
There are three notable changes to the existing transit service during the trial:
- Extension of the Rush Hour Route to become a full-time route. This would increase service along 28th Street East, 13th Street East, at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, within Crescent Acres and the Cornerstone Shopping District.
- Extension of all Routes from 7:15 pm – 10:15 pm (hourly)
- Reduction of operating frequency from Half-Hourly to Hourly from 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm.
