After surviving the cold snap of February, it's time to get outdoors again in March! For the first ten days you are encouraged to register your active minutes in the province-wide Go Out & Play Challenge! If Prince Albert has the most active minutes of the 40 communities entered we will get $10,000 toward youth playground equipment!

Be active March 1st to 10th, record your minutes and help Prince Albert win the Go Out & Play Challenge! Presented by Saskatchewan In Motion and sponsored by Saskatchewan Blue Cross, this is our city's chance to receive a $10,000 prize to go towards kids play equipment.
Create a profile and log your activity (walking, skiing, tobogganing, playing hockey, etc.) daily from March 1st to 10th .
When we win, the $10,000 will go towards a kids outdoor fitness circuit that would be installed this summer!
So go out and play and register your minutes each day!

March Arts at your community Arts Centre
The Prince Albert Arts Centre is winding down the Winter Season but still have several great programs in March to keep creative like Ukrainian Easter Egg making, Take & Make Woodburning Spoons, Pottery and Dreamcatchers! You can chose in person, take & make, or virtual programs. We are taking all safety precautions (smaller class sizes, mandatory masks, social distancing, disinfecting, and more) and welcome you here or from your home!

There are many great programs just underway at the Alfred Jenkins Field House. Some still have room. Call the AJFH at 306-953-4989 to check on availability.
Drop-In Classes run Monday to Friday at various times. Class size is limited to 7.
The Margo Fournier Centre offers a variety of programs.
Ruth Griffith's Early Adult Fitness is a popular program for older adults. Please note you have to pre-register for EAF.
Also, the Country Line Dance class at the MFC in March is Full!
Public Skating expands to both Saturdays and Sundays in March and moves to the Art Hauser Centre starting March 21st.
Also the Tuesday and Thursday "Parent & Tot" and "Adult & Senior" Free skating also will move to the AHC for the final two sessions March 18th and 25th.
The Winter Festival Art Show & Sale at the Mann Art Gallery is the premier community art event of northern Saskatchewan. In this exhibition, artworks by emerging and professional artists from across the province are shown at the Mann Art Gallery. This annual art show and sale was curated by Heather Benning and includes 94 artworks! It is on display until March 27.

For the past 9 years, the Mann Art Gallery has presented art by local high school students in the Project and Education Studio Galleries. This year, during the typical High School Juried Art Show period, we are determined to showcase and celebrate the artistic achievements and creative vision of talented students in a new, hybrid format—in-person and virtual! We are excited to host student’s work in the gallery for visitors, and online. Students have the option of only submitting a digital image of a work, or the physical work itself; all artworks will be viewed online. Freddie & Sheila Pelletier
Join Freddie and Sheila Pelletier at the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts April 1st for a fun and humorous acoustic evening of songs from the past with outstanding guitar picking and vocals.
Freddie, on lead acoustic and electric guitar and vocals, emulates the work of guitar greats like Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and others. Sheila, lead vocals and rhythm guitar, sings a mix of classic country, folk, 60's/70's rock and yodels. They also do a splash of original material, humorous songs and Freddie clogs while playing the guitar.

Curated and organized by the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery with funding assistance from the City of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Arts Board, SaskCulture, Saskatchewan Lotteries, and the Canada Council for the Arts. The exhibition, I do not have my words, features printmaking, photography, sculpture and beaded, mixed media works by Indigenous, Saskatchewan artists, Joi Arcand, Catherine Blackburn and Audrey Dreaver. Each artist’s body of works explore language loss and considers how language is connected to one’s cultural identity.
The newly renovated John M. Cuelenaere branch of the Prince Albert Public Library is open for regular Winter hours.
The JMCPL branch is offering a variety of free Craft in a Bag activities that are perfect for fun at home! Supplies limited.

The Lakeland District for Sport, Culture & Recreation provided the Prince Albert Arts Centre with some funding for some needed kiln equipment in the Pottery Studio.

Here's another great event at Little Red River Park March 7th and it's FREE---Winter Experiences for your Bubble with SaskOutdoors and Wildernook Fresh Air Learning.
Looking for a fun covid-safe outing during the pandemic. Enjoy a laugh, and winter-themed recreational activities that will help you experience your natural surroundings with fresh eyes. The non-profit organization, SaskOutdoors is pleased to partner with the City of Prince Albert and Wildernook Fresh Air Learning to host a guided local outdoor experience for you to enjoy with your bubble. This is an all ages friendly event, but we do invite you to bring your youthful energy!
We will be mobile on foot and participants should be able to comfortably walk two kilometres on uneven ground in winter conditions. Make sure to dress warmly in layers including winter boots, toque and face mask to be comfortable outdoors for one hour.
Limit per session is 9 and there are 9 sessions to choose from. Space is almost gone so register now here.
The City of Prince Albert Public Art Partnership Stimulus Fund provides up to $2,000 in matching funds to support one to two public art partnership projects per year. The program is aimed at supporting a professional artist to create a piece of art that is accessible to everyone in a public location. Examples include murals, participatory community public art projects and public works type art such as power boxes, park entrances, signage, etc. Project budgets submitted must include appropriate compensation for artists using CARFAC (Canadian Artist Representation/Le Front des artistes canadiens) rates.
Applicants for the fund must be a professional arts organization, non-profit organization, municipality or school division or private business located in the City of Prince Albert. Each organization must partner with a professional artist to qualify.

Creative Kids is a charitable program that funds Saskatchewan children who want to take music or dance lessons, learn to paint or act, speak a family language, explore different cultures, find out about their heritage, study dinosaur bones, or join a number of other creative pursuits in their community. Creative Kids funds arts, heritage, multicultural and Aboriginal activities for families facing financial barriers.
