Experience Prince Albert's nature trail situated on the North Saskatchewan River. With help from the Kiwanis Club, City of Prince Albert, Nature P.A., Par Industries, Human Resources Development Canada and the Penitentiary Work Crew, the trail came into existence in the fall of 1997.
The trail is located on the north riverbank and is 3.5 km long. It starts at the Diefenbaker Bridge, travels west along the river bank, under the bridge at Highway #55 and ends in Little Red River Park. For groups that want to experience the Riparian Zone of the North Saskatchewan River, take the time to walk, hike, bike, or cross-country ski the trail. Along the trail you will see the diverse flora and fauna that exists along the waters edge. If you get thirsty, you will come to a fresh water spring where many people get their drinking water. If you want to rest, sit down on one of the benches found approximately every 500 meters along the trail.
When you finish the hike, chances are you will be hungry, and what better place to have a picnic than Little Red River Park.
