The Act provides that a person who has been nominated may withdraw his/her nomination by filing with the Returning Officer or Nomination Officer a written statement to that effect signed by himself/herself and two witnesses, or by the Returning Officer or Nomination Officer:

(a) within twenty-four (24) hours after the close of nominations which would require the withdrawal of the nomination to be filed not later than 4:00 p.m. on the day following the Nomination Day.
(b) in addition, at any time during normal office hours during the period from receipt of the person's nomination until the time set out in clause (a) for withdrawal of nominations.
