As with many cities in Canada, the City of Prince Albert has parking meters located on city streets in the downtown core. One purpose of these parking meters is to encourage motorists to move their vehicles within a prescribed time period, allowing for a constant turnover of parking availability for incoming motorists.
The time limits for meters on the streets of Prince Albert vary depending on their location, anywhere from 30 minutes to 5 hours. The meters have different colored tops indicating different amount of time available:
- Red meters are 30 minutes
- Silver meters are 1 hour
- Green meters are 2 hours
- Yellow meters are 5 hours.
The Bylaw Enforcement Department monitors the City's enforcement of all parking bylaws. You can view the Traffic Bylaw and any amendments on the Bylaws page.
A variety of Parking Permits are available through Public Works Department on the 3rd Floor of City Hall.
