The Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame originated in 1988 when a group of local sports enthusiasts came together with the dream of creating a Hall of Fame to recognize the City's and district's top athletes, builders and teams.
The board held its first official meeting on Nov. 8, 1988. The members of the original board included Andy Zwack, George Cowie, Audrey Sandbeck, Fred Roy, Gary Molitwenik, John Holash, Larry Hammett, Ches Leach and Joe Ralko. It is because of these dedicated sports enthusiasts that the Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame is a reality and, aside from the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, is one of this province's most successful Sports Hall of Fame.
