To ensure compliance with the City of Prince Albert's zoning bylaw and planning policies, the Planning Division requires certain permits to be completed and approved before work can begin. Please be advised that if you are intending to build, move, demolish, alter or add onto a new or existing structure within the City of Prince Albert, you can expect a two-week waiting period. This includes applications for complete Building Permit packages, Building Permits, Crossing Applications, Grade Certificates and Connections Certificates.
Until your building permit is issued, NO construction may begin. Construction that is started prior to the issuance of a permit will be subject to a minimum $250.00 surcharge and any other action that is deemed appropriate.
If you are constructing a new building, renovating an old one, adding an additional use to or upgrading an existing building and/or starting a new business, you may need one or more of the following permits before you embark on your project.
A Building Permit is required whenever you are planning on building, renovating, moving or demolishing a building or planning a change of use of or an addition to a new or existing building.
A Development Permit is required for construction of a new building, an addition to an existing building or a change of use of a building or site.
